BTC Justice - Post-Sentence Support Worker Program

The Post-Sentence Support Worker (PSSW) Program is dedicated to creating and sustaining community connections for individuals at the post-sentence stage. This program provides direct support to help clients meet court-ordered conditions and address underlying causes of offending, reducing the risk of reoffending. The program also works collaboratively with other justice personnel to implement recommendations in Post-Sentence/Gladue reports.

Objectives

  • Provide support to help clients successfully complete recommendations and healing plans outlined in Post-Sentence/Gladue reports.

  • Assist clients in meeting the terms of their sentence while addressing root causes of offending behavior.

  • Reduce the likelihood of reoffending by offering resources and community-based solutions.

Services Provided
The Post-Sentence Support Worker Program offers a variety of support services, including:

  • Assisting clients with completing and implementing recommendations from Post-Sentence/Gladue reports.

  • Helping clients obtain proof of identity, if required.

  • Supporting reintegration into the community.

  • Providing assistance to clients, families, and community members when past trauma is triggered during the process.
